About Me

My name is Andy Bratton and I’m a Product Designer creating digital and physical products using a human-centered design process. I graduated from Appalachian State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Design and a Minor in Applied Physics in 2016. I spent two years working in product design, CAD, and Engineering Services at Sealed Air, a packaging industry leader. There, I helped start the Advanced Solutions Group which took an iterative and creative approach to solving the company’s most complex problems. Before that, I worked as an industrial design consultant for Fusion3 Design and helped develop their 2nd generation 3D printer.
Motivated by a passion for design and an interest in digital product development, I pivoted my career to UX Design through the Springboard UX Career track in 2019. Soon after, I landed an internship with DeepScribe, a company developing AI-powered medical transcription. I leverage empathy and design thinking as a skill to uncover important insights about customer needs. I approach my work with the idea that specialization is for insects, not people, and my diverse skillset from several design and engineering fields allows him to produce to a vast array of creative solutions to problems.
